Location : Redlands, CA

Reports to : Accounting GM

Employment Type:  Full-Time, Exempt

Pay:  $75-$90K

Job Purpose:      

We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Accounting Manager to lead and optimize financial operations across our U.S. Service centers. This high-impact role is responsible for accounting processes for multiple service centers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in accounting principles, month-end close activities, project management, process improvements, and financial reports and reviews. You will oversee a team of accounting professionals, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and drive process improvements that support clients commitment to excellence. Managing a team of 25+ accounting professionals nationwide, coordinating across multiple time zones, and delivering exceptional customer service to all our teams across the nation.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Nationwide Team Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of 25+ warehouse accounting professionals located throughout the United States, ensuring effective collaboration and performance across different time zones.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets for warehouse operations.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead closing processes for multiple service centers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements;coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation for annual audits
  • Project Management: Lead and execute accounting-related projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with senior leadership to influence business decisions through financial insights, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting.
  • Monthly Financial Reviews: Conduct monthly financial reviews with leadership to present results, discuss variances, and recommend corrective actions or strategic adjustments.
  • Financial & Strategic Reporting: Prepare financial and management reports, present industry rate trends, and align logistics operations with business objectives.
  • ROI Analysis: Complete return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for capital projects and operational initiatives to support strategic decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency across all locations.
  • Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics, lead quarterly performance reviews, and foster skill development within the team.
  • Strategic Analysis: Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain strong internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience. 
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience managing nationwide teams.
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing diverse teams
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Advanced Knowledge of Excel, and SAP. 
  • Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment with a variety of temperatures
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Days company closed: Christmas and New Years, Thanksgiving they work or work 1/2 day
  • During their go-live period (projects) employees can work 10 hours a day
  • Vacation Time Blackout period during busy season Company has blackout dates where no one can take vacation October-February
  • The schedule usually 1st shift but must have open availability
