Dispatcher- Job Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for the coordination of shipping and receiving activities, including dock
usage.
Job Function Statements Essential Functions:
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Compliance to SOP, GMPs, Housekeeping, Safety, and all other FE policies.
- Communicate with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, Transportation, Customer Service, and the rest of the FDC team on a regular basis (conference calls, proactive communication and information sharing as needed).
- File and document maintenance.
- Maintaining supplies and ordering as needed (includes office supplies, BOL, templates, etc.)
- Accurate data entry and file maintenance in PRMS.
- Following proper documentation procedures.
- Ship confirmation of Customer orders.
- Maintain and execute requests for trailer moves in YMS, yard management system and insure
follow-up is done as needed for YMS alerts.
- Compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Oversee VOICE Queue to disseminate work to all associates. Troubleshoot system issues to
ensure work flow continues.
- Responsible for order assignment que and truck check in.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Basic computer skills required.
- Highly-motivated person who is able to multi-task in a fast-paced, constant-changing
environment.
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work days, nights and weekends as necessary.
- Capable of working in a cold (32-36-degree F) and wet environment.
Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
- AS400, Microsoft Office, and inventory experience a plus.
