Position - Receptionist $13/hr
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
While the essential functions outlined below describe a significant portion of this position s assigned responsibilities, other functions and accountabilities may be assigned from time to time. In the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, it is expected that you will do whatever is necessary to further the mission and work of Mid Valley Packaging.
Serves as office receptionist, welcomes visitors by greeting them whether in person or on the telephone.
Directs phone calls to the appropriate party, takes accurate messages and answers question of a routine nature. Will transfer a caller to an associate s voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
Maintains an accurate visitor logbook; issues and collects visitor badges.
Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information
Provides employment applications to interested parties.
Receives and distributes incoming mail and processes outgoing mail including delivery to the U.S. Postal Office; verifies and accepts deliveries.
Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
Provides light clerical assistance in including sorting and alphabetizing documents.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Good verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively using the telephone.
A general understanding of MS Office including Outlook and Word.
Ability to alphabetize and file accurately.
Willingness to be flexible and perform a variety of tasks as needed.
Knowledge of general office equipment including the use of a multi-line phone system, postage meters and photocopy machines.
Ability to work successfully as an integral member of a team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or its equivalent is required with advance course work in business, office practices or a related field though a Community College or accredited vocational school preferred. Two or more years of paid general office work experience is also required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily sedentary spending significant time answering a multi-line phone or performing light filing. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled office setting utilizing general office equipment. Work occasionally requires standing, bending, and may require carrying or passing out materials of up to five pounds.
