Job Title/Job Code: Quality Assurance Coordinator 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports to: Quality Manager 

Shift: Day Shift

Pay Rate: $21/hr




Summary: As a Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing quality management strategies. You will also be responsible for inspecting raw materials and  stocks. You should ensure that the inspection complies with the quality standards and   regulations.




Key Duties and  Responsibilities: 

Inspect products on the manufacturing line for flaws or defects.

Test items by analyzing size, weight, chemical composition, and components.

Experiment with products to determine the reliability and if it will withstand wear and tear. 

Improve upon materials and parts used in the production process.

Ensure the production process meets industry standards. 

Create reports of quality control tests and analyze the data to determine if any changes in the production process are necessary. 

Develop and implement quality improvement activities and policies.

Develop educational materials. 

Provide external customer support. 

Develop and maintain a system for outcomes measurement. 

Determine if program is achieving its goals. 

Develop performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency.

Implement systems to ensure that services conform to regulatory requirement.

Conduct surveys to solicit feedback. 

Perform statistical analysis and data analysis. 

Assist with quality control audits. 

Investigate, monitor, document and report on quality of care and service issues.

Implementing quality improvement strategies 

Documenting various quality control policies. 

Setting the organization s goals. 

Examining raw materials and finding defects in them, if any. 

Suggesting improvements in the materials. 

Monitoring all the product processors and procedures. 

Performing quality checks and tests. 

Analyzing statistical data as and when required.

Experimenting with products to determine their durability. 

Reporting all the quality control tests in comprehensible reports.

Performing quality controls audits. 

Resolving any issues and discrepancies. 

Working in collaboration with the team members. 

Complying with the rules and regulations of the company. 

Conduct quality training sessions and workshops if required.

Education:

Associate's or Bachelor s degree in business or relevant technical field from an  accredited college or university, or two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience  working in a manufacturing environment.




Work Experience and/or Skills:

A minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment with  knowledge of plastics, extrusion, injection molding, or packaging required. 

Significant technology background and/or minimum of a 2 year degree in a  manufacturing technology area. 

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred. 

Experience in basic quality tools, ASQ certification preferred 

Food Safety training is preferred but not required (SQF, HACCP). 

Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

Ability to lead investigations that can have a significant impact.  

Must be able to work flexible hours in order to support a 24 hour workforce.

Proficiency with MS Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.) required.  Background in Minitab preferred. Background in Microsoft SharePoint preferred.

Use basic digital imaging software and digital camera interface for documentation.  Willingness and ability to quickly learn custom applications in MRP, and complaint  management.
