Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our team in Sanger, CA.

Pay: $70-$90K




Overview:

- This position supports all aspects of the production operation, including planning, production, packaging, quality and employee health and safety. This position maintains overall supervision of employees in both Plant and Production roles.

Must:

- Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, especially Pet Food.

- Cost management, production planning, inventory control, quality; and continuous improvement at site leader level.

- 5+ years leading a high-performance management team and developing staff. Encourages employees to identify improvement opportunities; sets realistic challenges for the team; influences others, internally and externally, to drive change efforts; encourages collaboration and innovation.

- Ability to understand the company s competitive context; strong analytical and conceptual abilities to develop his/her own plan within the general company strategy and communicate clearly to the team.

- Demonstrated track record leading the improvement of operations while delivering day to day performance. Highly professional demeanor and diplomatic skills.

- Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization as a collaborative team player. Experience in developing, reporting, and analyzing financial measurement of plant performance. Experience in food processing technologies.

- Knowledge of regulatory codes and regulations (HACCP, Health, and Safety, etc.), food industry and food science.

- Strong organizational, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment Attention to detail and accuracy, self- initiating, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and independently.

- Results-oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success, and managing resources.

- Extremely strong work ethic; highest standards of ethics and compliance with governing regulations, standards, and laws.

- Good computer skills and knowledge of how an enterprise database and plant floor control system operates.

Quality and Food Safety:

- Completes quality & food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.

- Participates in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements. Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined.

- Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.

- Report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.

- Supports the development, implementation and continuation of all product development initiatives and quality assurance programs, including SQF, HACCP and associated GMPs.

Plant Management:

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Able to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

- Review monthly reports and ensure effective remedial plans are implemented to address issues.

- Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor. Participates in mandatory safety trainings and adheres to all safety policies.

- Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.




Cross Function:

- Coordinate with other functions (e.G., Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance) to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency on multifunctional initiatives.

- Provide detailed review of monthly performance reports and variance explanations.

- Manage the facilities operating budget by determining and assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, obtaining approval, reviewing monthly spending variances, and taking appropriate action when necessary.

- Maintain a constant awareness of company profitability, including budgetary control constraints, vendor and supplier management and controls.




Education and Qualifications:

- Associates degree and/or equivalent related experience in manufacturing required.

- A minimum of 8 years of direct management and supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant.

- Pet food Manufacturing experience is highly preferred. (Food Manufacturing industry is a plus.)

Great leadership skills with drive to motivate and direct plant operations.

- Well-developed organizational skills

- Good knowledge of business finances, budgets, pricing, negotiation, and contracts

- Top-notch communication and supervisor skills
