Job Title: Microbiologist Lab Technician 

Pay Rate: $22-26/hr.

Shift:1st 8AM- 4: 30pm Mon-Fri

Benefit: Medical, Dental, AD&D

*Position is temporary*




Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of microbiological issues, including writing and validating microbiological procedures, testing samples and interpretation of results to support the production and validation processes.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform microbiological testing of bulk samples, final products, raw materials, and other samples per SOP.

Perform preservative efficiency/ challenge testing.

Submit PET results/reports in timely manner.

Perform reoccurring environmental and water microbiological testing.

Review, interpret and perform customer test protocols as directed.

Develop and coordinate document control related to microbiological procedures.

Prepare all media and materials needed for routine microbiological testing.

Maintain all equipment used for microbiological testing and perform simple repairs when needed.

Assist in training new employees on how to understand and perform basic microbiological procedures.

Responsible for ordering microbiological supplies.

Understand and exercise all safety requirements and procedures.

Understand cGLP and cGMP procedures.

Understand FDA/State and Hazmat requirements/regulations.

Present the microbiological lab to auditors.

Work as a team with the QA Lab, pre-weigh, production, QC, and receiving personnel.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.




Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.




Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.




Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with MS Word and Excel. Ability to maintain confidential information. Able to work under pressure and deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.




Education Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in related field and a minimum of four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. .
