Full Steam Staffing is now hiring a Material Handler in Watsonville, CA
Pay Rate: $16.50- $18/hr. | Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am- 3: 30pm
**Material Handler with forklift experience is a plus!
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
To assure the proper receiving, moving, and storage of Company product and components, utilizing
specialized equipment to allow for physical moves and computer software to make electronic moves
in the Company inventory database.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Responsible for the accurate counting of any or all product and components that are to be moved to or from an inventory location to and from a production line.
Responsible for transferring components through Sage X3 with correct quantity and locations
Responsible for operating all assigned equipment in a skilled manner and according to established safety guidelines.
Responsible for kitting work orders.
Responsible for moving and delivering of inventory.
Responsible for cleaning and organizing of production areas.
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Uses checklist to determine status of equipment each day.
Safe operation of forklift(s)
Refuel equipment as needed
Kit and deliver work orders as needed according to procedure
Pick up and deliver finished goods from production. Sign for and verify counts before moving.
Return unused components to storage location.
Assist with inventory control by helping with cycle counts and organizing of inventory to allow for ease of counting.
Replace any missing bar code labels or location labels.
Maintain a clean facility.
MEETING PARTICIPATION
Training meetings
Any others as requested.
AUTHORITY
This position reports to the Production Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not a managerial role and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
CLASSIFICATION
This is a full-time non-exempt role?
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE
2-3 Years of related experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
PC Computer skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Ability to make evaluative judgments.
Ability to drive various types of forklifts.
Must be forklift certified
Basic math skills and an understanding of inventory control.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
Physical stamina to withstand eight or more hours on feet. Kneeling, crouching, climbing and working at heights.
This position requires the ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
