Job Description:
We re seeking a skilled Maintenance/Welding Technician to join our team in Bakersfield, CA. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, as well as performing welding and fabrication work as needed to ensure all plant equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe or non-compliant activities.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance to keep equipment operational, including pumps, conveyors, valves, hydraulic units, burners, and mobile equipment.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, including breaker boxes, power supplies, sensors, PLCs, and lighting.
  • Perform welding, cutting, and grinding tasks to repair or fabricate components as needed.
  • Complete work orders and respond promptly to equipment downtime.
  • Maintain and follow preventive maintenance (PM) programs, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment, including running new electrical wiring and/or piping.
  • Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with all safety programs.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with engineers as needed.
  • Proactively detect, diagnose, and repair potential issues using PM and inspection tools.
  • Attend required training sessions and safety meetings.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Strong welding experience required (MIG, TIG, or stick preferred).
  • Ability to perform cutting, grinding, and fabrication work safely and accurately.
  • Knowledge of identifying and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and dependable.
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse teams.
