Job Title: Human Resources Generalist (FLSA Exempt)

Pay Rate: $80, 000/year

Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support across multiple business units. Under the direction of the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), this role handles day-to-day HR activities including recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, safety, compliance, and HR data maintenance. This position supports executive leadership and a large seasonal workforce across multiple regions.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary resource for new-hire orientation and onboarding activities, including required testing and screenings.
  • Ensure all new-hire documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner, including coordination with remote locations.
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment and related reporting requirements.
  • Support employee relations activities such as conflict resolution, investigations, legal compliance, and documentation, independently or under HRBP guidance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements.
  • Deliver or support training programs including New Hire Orientation, Sexual Harassment Prevention, skills training, and safety-related topics.
  • Administer Workers Compensation processes, including incident response, documentation, reporting, and ongoing communication with injured employees.
  • Coordinate return-to-work and transitional duty programs as needed.
  • Manage OSHA/CalOSHA reporting, documentation, inspections, and compliance follow-up.
  • Coordinate and track required safety training and ensure proper documentation.
  • Conduct safety audits and work with management to address findings in a timely manner.
  • Support environmental compliance activities such as hearing conservation testing, lockout/tagout programs, and hazardous materials audits.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and reporting through the company HRIS system.
  • Assist with audits of HR, payroll, and safety processes for internal teams and third-party providers.
  • Support additional programs such as DOT setup and maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere to all PPE and personal safety requirements in both office and field environments.

  • Understand and comply with company food safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required food safety training.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with food safety standards, including GAP requirements.
  • Request additional or refresher training as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • AA degree in Human Resources, Business, Agribusiness, or related field required;BA degree preferred.
  • 5 10 years of experience in a similar HR generalist role (non-exempt or exempt).

Technical Skills
  • Ability to accurately complete and analyze HR documentation such as timecards, training records, new-hire paperwork, investigations, and disciplinary records.
  • Strong math skills for performance tracking, reporting, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and email systems.
  • Experience with HRIS data management and reporting.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk fields over uneven terrain, including bending and stooping.
  • Exposure to plants, fruits, vegetables, insects, and outdoor weather conditions (heat, wet, humid).
  • Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
