Job Title: Forklift Operator
Pay Rate: $18/hr.
Shift: 1st and 2nd
Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D, PSL
Forklift Operator (Material Handler) safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to load/unload trucks, move raw materials/finished goods, and replenish production lines, ensuring high safety and inventory accuracy standards are met. The role involves working with warehouse management systems (RF scanning), performing daily equipment inspections, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling: Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, stack, and retrieve raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in warehouse/production areas.
Shipping & Receiving: Load/unload trailers and containers, ensuring proper, safe, and secure product placement.
Inventory Control: Use RF scanners to accurately track shipments, verify stock, and perform inventory counts.
Production Support: Deliver necessary materials to production lines and remove finished goods to designated storage.
Safety & Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip equipment checks, follow safety protocols, and maintain a clean work area.
Requirements
Certification: Valid forklift certification.
Experience: Experience with forklifts and warehouse equipment.
Skills: Proficiency with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
Physicality: Ability to work in varied environments (e.G., freezer/cooler) and perform general warehouse labor.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the position satisfactorily.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally required to lift, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time).
