Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team up with engineers, architects and DC project teams to define the projects scope and specifications
- Ensure or obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities and meet code regulations
- Assigning tasks to the project team to meet the expected management plan
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Determine needed resources (suppliers or service providers/trades) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Oversee the performance of the project management team up to and including travel to project sites.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as construction project manager
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material and project management principles
- Knowledge with construction/ project management software
- 5+ years experience of MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
- Knowledge with quality and health and safety standards
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ years of related experience in the field is preferred
- Bachelor s degree in either architecture, civil engineering, construction management or related field is a plus or proven experience
- Strong knowledge of construction management best practices
- Fluent in software programs related to construction management, including project management software and excel
- Current with rules and regulations related to construction
Computer Skills:
- Knowledge of Software Programs related to construction management
- Knowledge of Project Management software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.
